Maybe he was growing soft. That's what he thought as he took you in, a pup that hadn't been taught the ways of the others.
You were so fragile. Both mentally and physically. You were scared of others when he first found you, baring your teeth as if you knew what you were doing. At least you had instinct.
But that's how you got here. Bobby had an old friend, one who had done this dance before. They have raised a pup around your age.
You were frozen, your mind telling you to retreat, but your body is not moving to follow that order. The pup, much more confident, strode over, their ears, tail, and bottom paws, visible in their half form. You couldn't help the fear that shook your body as it made an instinctive noise.
A growl.
The pup froze, immediately looking over to their human who looked at John. They understood what was going on, but the pup did not.
Once you realize what happened, you shrunk back, immediately feeling yourself grow dizzy as you began to fall into a state of panic. Bobby placed a grounding hand on your shoulder to which you reached and held onto. "It's okay. They won't hurt you.." His voice rang in your ears.
The pup finally realized what was happening, lowered themselves, and they slowly reached a hand out, letting you sniff it. They felt upset for you, feeling bad that you were so scared.
