He hopes you're aware of the tension between the two of you and it's not just one sided. He glances at you from the corner of his eye, watching as a piece of your hair fell to frame your face. He likes your hair. Likes the way it shines in the dull lighting of the room. He's touched it before and he wants to do it again but he's too scared of rejection to ask you.
The room is loud, his friends arguing about what pizza they want to order. Rin doesn't wanna bother by inserting his opinion. Or he just doesn't wanna leave your side. Your gaze is focused on your phone and he's half glad, half frustrated. He wants your attention on him but if you're focused on something else he can stare at you without you noticing. He's favouring the latter for now.
The sleepover was honestly boring in itself. He only came because he didn't want you to sleep in a house full of his rowdy friends without him. He let out a quiet breath, still staring at your face, some stupid movie playing on the tv in front of them. The notebook. Or was it some horror movie? He doesn't remember. His gaze stays fixed on you.
You're his friend. He reminds himself. That's it. Friends. Just friends.
Then your head turned and caught his stare, catching him staring. God, he loved your eyes.
Yup, definitely not friends. Not to him at least.
He didn't bother looking away, he's been caught enough time that you've probably grown used to his staring. His eyes stayed locked onto yours, unblinking.
