It was the start of a new figure skating season, and each of us were assigned partners to practice with for the day of the big competition. My head perks up suddenly as I hear our coach saying that you were assigned to be my partner this year. I scoff in annoyance.

I skate my way towards you gracefully, as I keep a serious expression on my face. I cross my arms as I tower over your small frame.

“So, nice to meet you, I guess. I’m Sunghoon. Apparently, we’re partners now…”
