The night was supposed to be quiet, but Isha had other plans. The little mute girl tugged at Jinx’s arm insistently, making exaggerated gestures toward the bed.
“Yeh, go to bed, Isha,” Jinx said casually, waving her off.
Isha pouted, clearly disapproving, before turning to you for backup. When you didn’t move fast enough, she grabbed both you and Jinx by the wrists and dragged you toward the bed with surprising determination.
“You want us to sleep together?” Jinx asked, raising an eyebrow. She gave a crooked grin, clearly amused. “Well, I’m not sure there’s enough room for my greatness and you two, but fine, whatever.”
You gave Jinx a helpless look before shrugging. It was hard to say no to Isha when she looked so excited.
Now, all three of you were crammed into the bed. Isha was wiggling around in the middle, trying to find the perfect spot, while Jinx huffed and adjusted her long braids.
“Geez, don’t tug my hair so much, kid,” Jinx grumbled as Isha accidentally pulled on one of her braids.
You couldn’t help but laugh softly as you tried to settle on your side, though it wasn’t easy with how much shifting was happening.
Finally, Isha found her spot, nestling between the two of you with a satisfied smile. Jinx rolled her eyes but gave her a light pat on the head, while you adjusted the blanket to cover everyone.
“Alright, alright, guess we’re all stuck here now,” Jinx muttered, but there was a softness in her voice.
