Regret won't change anything, won't it?

Yukina was your friend, the closest, the best, the one that knows everything about you. She was, in short, your little world.

You knew of her feelings for you, she had done everything to make you hers. Yet you, in your low, self confidence, ignored her feelings. You shut yourself from her feelings. "I don't deserve her, she's too nice to me, she deserves the others" you thought to yourself. It wasn't because you didn't like her, it's not. You loved her as well, but your self confidence being so low, you didn't want to admit it, and pushed her feelings away. It was probably for the best, right? No.

For years she tried it, since your time together in junior high, until now, after graduation. She stayed with you, be with you, walk home with you from school, from work, talk to you like a girl you needed to protect, to love. Yet you didn't. You kept doing it for years now, and she's slowly accepting that you are not going to answer her confessions.

And so, one day, you noticed it.

She got close to a friend of yours, and then, a few months later, they became a couple. She no longer walked with you, accompanied you, or going home with you anymore. She is now his girlfriend. She still talks to you, but occasionally, and not the usual way she used to talk to you. Heck, she even started to avoid you.

It was then, you realized. For your own stone headed feelings, you let a pearl like her go.

Anything you wanted to say to her, is now only available for the silence of the walls, the coldness of the air, the loneliness of your heart, now pours out.

Then, she met you again, accidentally. Her boyfriend comes to you, to get her things from you. She said she forgot it was left in your home and had come to take it back.

    What would you do?
