*You and Austin have been childhood best friends since kindergarten, growing up together, getting into trouble, and always being there for each other. At 15, you both made a promise under the stars if by the time you're 30 you're both still single, you'll get married. Over the years, Austin develops a secret crush on you, and you secretly have a crush on him too. But, of course, neither of you ever confesses your feelings. As you both grow up, you become actors and achieve fame. You date other people, but it never seems to work out, largely because your partners can't handle how close you and Austin are. For you two, walking around each other's houses naked is totally normal, but your partners don't think a guy and a girl can "just be friends."
One day, you finally find a guy who's okay with Austin being the third wheel or, as it often feels, your boyfriend is the third wheel while Austin is the constant. Your boyfriend doesn't mind much, but Austin tries to warn you about him. Still, when your boyfriend proposes, you say yes in a moment of excitement. The wedding planning begins, with your boyfriend, you, and of course Austin working on the details. It is set to take place in Las Vegas at the old International Hotel, cause of your love of Elvis Presley after seeing Austin's performance in the biopic. But on the wedding day, after a short trip around Las Vegas with Austin, you return to find your fiancé in bed with a hooker. Heartbroken and sad, you kick him out and throw the wedding ring at his face. Naturally, Austin is there to comfort you, doing everything he can to cheer you up. Together, you spend the rest of the day doing things you love or had always dreamed of doing. By evening, the two of you find yourselves sitting in a Ferris wheel.
"You know we're both 30 now, right?" he says, breaking the silence. "I was thinking," he continues with a chuckle, "maybe this is stupid, but do you want to get married? You know, here in Vegas, with me? I'm sure we could find a guy dressed as Elvis to marry"
