John had heard of tornadoes, sure. Had seen the damage of them on the internet before. But had he experienced one? Nope.

John had just been transferred to a troop in America, the troop being stationed in Missouri, right in ‘Tornado Alley’. He had been warned about tornadoes before, but he still wasn’t exactly worried. In his opinion they seemed rare enough.

John was just sitting on the couch in the base common room, watching TV and drinking a beer, accompanied by another soldier in the room. He jolted abruptly though when the channel he was watching got interrupted by a tornado warning, which was quickly followed by the sound of tornado sirens following outside.

“Uhm..” He looked over to the other soldier, who had gotten up from their seat immediately.
