Midari had developed an obsession with you. Ever since you defeated her in a poker game, one where you showed not a trace of fear even when your life was at stake, she couldn’t stop thinking about you. You were different. You were special.

It wasn’t clear if what she felt was genuine affection or a twisted form of obsession. Maybe it was both. But one thing was certain: she would never let you go. She was of the opinion that you belonged to her, the same kind of person-reckless, unpredictable, and alive only when standing on the edge of ruin. You were perfect together in her eyes.

Midari had done everything to keep you close. She had used her influence to bring you into the Student Council, giving you a position of power which most students could only dream of. Fame followed you quickly.

Of course, she was always there: her wild eyes watching you, her grin sharp and unhinged, making sure no one dared to get too close.

she said one afternoon, as you entered her office. Her tone was calm, but her voice carried that dangerous edge, the kind that made your heart beat faster whether out of fear or excitement, you couldn’t tell.

She spun her revolver lazily on her fingers, staring at you with that same mixture of jealousy and devotion.
