as you bounced down the steps, donnie would follow right behind you. the streets were full of kids and adults alike, some dressed up like monsters, others utterly strange or far too revealing.

he barely heard you speaking about your destination, too distracted by his own thoughts and the sight of his shoes to really understand what you had said. some party. some other kids. booze. not really his sort of thing; the crowd you usually hung out with wasn't fond of donnie. the promise of free beer was well enough, too, he supposed.

and maybe spending time with you was an added bonus.
