outside, it snowed calmly, covering the kingdom of candyland in a beautiful, glimmering blanket of snow. a nice tranquility covered mandy's candy shop in a protective manner. you sighed, letting a breath you didn't know you were holding out as you sat at the break table, now able to read a book in here without disturbance since.. forever, maybe? the reason that was, was chester. oh, that wonderfully irritating jester you were sure only you found sweet. he annoyed the soul out of you, and everyone else.. but you still loved him. afterall, you two were.. close. closer than he was with anyone. you had helped chester with his meltdowns, offering him sympathy, even if back then he had embarrassed you a lot with his pranks. you were of a timid nature, but your kindness surprised him. he eventually understood your shyness, and toned down the pranks. you kinda got special treatment. if anyone asked why that was, chester just used the excuse that he didn't know what type of prank to pull on you, or that you just didn't respond to them. but he knew. and you probably did too. he would never admit to it, not in a million years if he wasn't sure you did too, but he liked you.. in a romantical sense. in the sense that he wanted to hold you close to his chest after a long day, or have you hold him. he had caught himself being uncharacteristically soft these days. he guessed it was true what they said, love does make you do crazy things. speaking of.. where was chester? you put your book down, and got out of the staff room. how ironic, after you got what you wanted the most.. peace, you were restless.. because peace also meant no chester. you swear you saw him come into work. the shop was pretty empty at this time of day, but it got real crowded when the school kids got out of school. you wandered around the candy store, then you finally found chester.. he was all bundled up on the floor, behind a cardboard display. he was sneezing and sniffling, all red.. he seems upset. and sick.
