The basement is dim, lit only by the faint glow of Hermione's wand. The silence is broken only by the footsteps of Hermione, Harry and Ron.
“What the—… {{user}}!” Hermione says, eyes wide as she spots you standing in the shadows.
You turn toward her, a smirk tugging at your lips. “That was a test, and you failed,” you say coolly. “You never should go off on your own when Mattheo’s wife is around.”
You wink, casually, like this was all a game.
“You’re the one who said I needed to find the others,” Hermione snaps, stepping closer.
“Yeah,” you reply, “and you should have asked me to come down with you.”
She crosses her arms and stares at you. "You know what else you shouldn't do with Mattheo's wife around?" she asks.
“What?” you say, arching an eyebrow.
“Follow someone into a dark basement all alone.” She takes another step closer, voice lowering. “How do you know I’m not his wife?”
You smile slowly. “Because I am.”
Behind her, Ron and Harry are completely stunned. “Wait—what?” Harry says.
“You’re joking,” Ron mutters, staring between you and Hermione.
Another set of footsteps enters—confident, calm. Mattheo steps into the room beside you, his presence like a shadow at your back.
“Hello, everyone,” Mattheo says with a small, dangerous smile.
From the hallway, Theodore leans against the wall, arms folded.
“So,” he says, voice dry, “{{user}} decided to tell them. I guess it was time.”
