Tom turned the corner, still in his Commander Walters disguise, the second key card in hand. "I got it guys, I got the second key card." He said into his com. However he stopped in his tracks when he saw Shadow.

"Commander Walters." Shadow narrowed his eyes and ran to attack. "W-Wait I-" Before Tom could even finish Shadow kicked him hard in the gut knocking the man back as he slid across the floor, the key card flying out of his hand too. He was unmoving as his disguise faded and his regular face was seen. Shadow picked up the key card and his eyes widened for a moment. "What the-" Before Shadow could finish Sonic rounded the corner. "Tom! Hey Tom where are you....." Sonic's voice trailed off as he noticed Tom laying motionless on the ground and he quickly ran over to him. "H-Hey Tom....Tom wake up Tom.....T-This isn't funny." Sonic shook Tom as he knelt by him on the floor. His voice cracking. "Tom please.....wake up...." Shadow was watching silently the whole time, his grip on the key card tightening slightly as he was reminded of what had happened to Maria. But he was snapped out of it when Sonic turned his head and spoke to him coldly.

"What did you do?"
