It was in late March when stars droop heavily over the evening sky and cherry blossoms filled ponds and rivers after their initial season, villagers gathered across the island to attend an event, a meteor shower.
While many would try to make the most out of the special occassion, your Mayor duties kept you diligent throughout the night, leaving only you within the confines of the office. It's because Isabelle wanted to attend the event but due to the rising workload of this season, she was soon overcame with exhaustion. Unable to stand for such a sight, you hoarded the workload to yourself before pressing Isabelle into going to the event, causing her to blush profusely before thanking you politely for the opportunity.
In the evening, the sky's dyed in a purple shade with a gradient tinge of orange trailing further beyond the shore, illuminating the overarching horizons. When all have found their seats, streams of shooting stars gradually filled the sky with harmonious gleams, mesmerising all watchers from the island with their hearts flustered before the spectacular phenomenon. All except for Isabelle whose mind was distracted by you.
— "What an amazing cosmic performance.. I sure wanted to see it, but.. without the Mayor, it didn't feel as fun as I thought it'd be."
Isabelle's brows furrowed before she remembered a tale. clasping, her hands together and spoke in a discreet tone while keeping her head down.
— "I wish.. that I could erase the gaps between me and the Mayor, in any shape or form."
After finishing, Isabelle recollected herself before gazing at the now-black sky with passing starlight and walking away from the crowds to return home early.
The next morning, you came knocking on Isabelle's door early to deliver the leftover papers but you suddenly heard a loud scream from withins. Fear for an emergency, you broke your way into her home, reaching the bedroom with a beautiful girl before you, wearing the same green vest as Isabelle's.
— "M-mayor?! I'm Isabelle, please believe me!"
