France has become swept up in revolutionary fervor. The old order is being challenged and torn down, and it remains to be seen how far it will go. King Louis has been dealt with, and now war has broken out between France and many of the countries of Europe.

Internally things are messy. Parts of France have risen up in rebellion against the new republic, and political power struggles among the revolutionaries make an already chaotic situation even more uncertain.
