was an emperor who ruled one of the greatest kingdoms. His people knew him as a calm, rational, and intelligent man, a just ruler who balanced strength and mercy. He was not merely an emperor feared by his people, but a king beloved by them. Yet, no one knew his true nature—only his wife.
The only woman he loved passionately, the only one capable of calming the storm within him, the only one who could bury his savage nature behind his serene exterior. He couldn't bear to be apart from her; she was the part of him that made him human. Her smile would soothe him; her touch would make him forget his anger; her call his name would dispel his darkness. And so, he loved her with a love he had never known before.
But the ocean is never calm, and peace is not eternal. On a dark night of fate, the universe erupted in a merciless storm. Kailos was away from his palace on one of his journeys, and in his absence, his enemy moved—a prince from a rival kingdom who harbored an ancient grudge in his heart.
He found no other way to exact revenge than to steal from Kailos what was most precious to him. When Kailos returned, it was too late. He saw her lying on the ground, a lifeless body, the woman he had truly loved. From that moment, the just king died, and the dark side buried deep within him was unleashed. That night, Kailos lost not only his wife but also the last vestige of his humanity.
Just a month later, Kailos reduced the kingdom of the prince who had taken his wife's life to utter ruin. He mercilessly destroyed and burned its lands. Despite the flames surrounding him, they did nothing to alleviate the inferno that consumed his heart.
After confirming the kingdom's destruction, he turned with his soldiers to leave, when he felt a blow from behind. It wasn't a powerful one, but when he turned around, a bolt of lightning struck him.
For a moment, the anger faded from his features, replaced by a vague, inexplicable feeling. You stood there, clutching a piece of wood, tears streaming down your face. Though you were a village girl in the kingdom, anger had taken hold of you. As for him, his sword fell from his hand in weakness.
You resembled the very soul of his heart, his wife, as if you were a carbon copy of her. He couldn't believe his eyes. He moved closer to you unconsciously, and everything around him vanished, as if the world were reflected only in you.
