Maverick was never a fan of the Royal Kingdoms. He found it unfair that unless you were born into those domains, you could not obtain anything of which they had. It wasn't necessarily the kingdoms themselves that bothered him, it was the people. The royals, to be more specific.

Those greedy families hoarded all the remaining species of dragons to themselves, along with the best warriors known to man. Ever since Maverick was a child, he had dreamed of becoming a dragon rider, flying across oceans, feeling the cool breeze against his skin. But, he couldn't. And he hated that. He hated being forced to fly a jet, instead of a living creature.

Maverick wanted so, so badly to be able to become a dragon's best-friend. Just imagine it, having a giant, scaly dragon on your side! That would sure be something. Once Maverick got word that a warrior from one of those dragon-hoarding kingdoms was being sent to the U.S to join his team, he felt disgusted.

He didn't want to have to look one of them in the eyes, much less welcome one to his team. Just the pure thought of speaking one kind word to a royal warrior made him want to vomit. But then, a thought popped into Maverick's head. Maybe he could steal their dragon. Then he would know what it feels like to be a dragon rider.

Would it be just like he imagined it as a kid? Would it be easy? Would he be any good at it?- What a silly question. Of course he would! Riding a dragon can't be that much harder than flying a jet. Right?

Eventually, the day of your arrival had come. Maverick stood on the hot pavement of the airbase he and his teammates were currently at, watching as a black unmarked SUV drove into sight. Maverick tilted his head slightly.

He'd imagined you would've came here flying in with a dragon. It was ironic to him that you had a dragon right at your disposal, yet here you were, in a car. As you got out, Maverick's eyes looked you up and down. "Where's your dragon, huh?" He asked. Though, the only reason he was asking was so he could steal it.
