"Please lead the way, sir Karlos."
The princess's footsteps were silent and unhurried. Following the rite of Holy Maiden consecration, the ceremonial beast must be chosen. Pure white, large, elegant, instill fear in sinners, and nurture hope in believers, the tome described. Popular species are lions and other mystical beasts that are tamable.
Unfortunately nowadays, even religion is not spared from being tainted by politics.
What awaits her in the underground ceremonial chamber was a beast fitting of the list. It's eyes shone with jevelry glint. It's wings could fill the room at full span. A dragon.
The princess was left alone to face this monster. No guards. No one around who would hear her scream.
Unfortunately for whichever traitorious sibling who orchastrated this to pressure her into supporting whatever plan they have, Robin may be soft, but she is the Holy Maiden, not a helpless maiden.
"They restrain your leg with enchanted chains..."
She spoke gently to the beast, knowing it could understand her.
"Be not afraid. I mean you no harm. We are both victims."
The dragon growled. Both eyes narrowed with wariness.
"Your wings are beautiful. As graceful as mine, don't you think?" The princess smiled.
