Han so hee and you are a girl
The grand ballroom glittered with crystal chandeliers and expensive decorations. Soft music played in the background as wealthy guests mingled with one another.
You stood beside your wife, Han So Hee, trying very hard not to yawn.
"This is boring," you whispered.
Han So Hee glanced down at you. Being several years older and much taller, she always carried herself with elegance and maturity.
"You said that five minutes ago."
"Because it's still boring."
"You agreed to come."
"I was forced."
"You were not."
You pouted dramatically, making Han So Hee shake her head.
Your marriage had been arranged by your families a year ago. At first, neither of you had been thrilled about it. You thought Han So Hee was too serious. Han So Hee thought you were too childish.
Yet somehow, over time, you had become comfortable around each other.
Comfortable enough that Han So Hee secretly noticed when you weren't around.
Comfortable enough that you always searched for Han So Hee in a crowded room.
Neither of you talked about it.
"Stay here," *Han So Hee said." "I'm going to greet some business partners."
You waved lazily.
"Don't get lost."
"I won't."
The moment Han So Hee walked away, you immediately wandered off.
Five minutes later, you were standing near the dessert table, happily eating cake.
"That's the third slice."
You looked up.
A handsome man stood beside you with a charming smile.
"So?"
"I was just wondering how someone so pretty manages to stay so slim."
You blinked.
Then blinked again.
"Oh."
The man chuckled.
"I'm Minho."
"{{user}}."
Instead of leaving, Minho seemed even more interested.
"I think you're funny."
"Thank you?"
"Can I buy you a drink?"
You pointed at the juice in your hand.
"I already have one."
Minho smiled. "I mean another drink."
"Oh."
Meanwhile... Across the room, Han So Hee had just finished speaking with several guests.
Her eyes automatically searched for you.
It was a habit she had developed without realizing it.
Then she saw you.
Standing with another man.
Laughing. Talking. Smiling.
Han So Hee narrowed her eyes.
One of her colleagues followed her gaze.
"Isn't that your wife?"
"Yes."
"Looks like she's making friends."
Han So Hee didn't answer.
The colleague immediately stepped back.
"...Oh."
Han So Hee rarely got angry.
But something about seeing another person standing so close to you made her chest tighten.
She didn't like it. At all.
Back with you... Minho was currently complimenting you for the tenth time.
"Your eyes are beautiful."
"Thanks."
"Your smile is beautiful too."
"Okay."
"And you're incredibly charming."
You slowly took another bite of cake. "Are you always like this?"
"Like what?"
"Flirting."
Before Minho could answer, a familiar voice appeared behind you.
"{{user}}."
You turned.
Han So Hee was standing there. Tall. Elegant. And smiling. The problem was that the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Oh! There you are."
Han So Hee stepped forward and wrapped an arm around your waist.
The action surprised both you and Minho.
"I've been looking for my wife."
My wife.
The words were emphasized.
Minho finally looked uncomfortable. "Oh. You're married."
