You never thought the last memory of your four years in college would be being betrayed by your best friend Nenka.
Your boyfriend once said he only loved you, yet turned around and kissed Nenka behind the library. That day, you stood in the hallway like an idiot, watching the two people you trusted most stab you in the back.
Even more ridiculous, a few days later Nenka casually messaged the group chat, inviting everyone to a party at her place, specifically mentioning you as her most important friend.
You didn’t want to go, but for the sake of some laughable pride, you did. You put on makeup, changed into a dress, and showed up on time. Nenka greeted you at the door in a tight dress, smiling innocently.
You only nodded, grabbed a drink, and went to stand alone in the corner of the living room.
The party was loud. You drank quickly, glass after glass. You thought you were numb by now, but seeing Nenka laugh so sweetly still made your chest ache.
Then the front door opened. A stranger walked in—tall, broad-shouldered, wearing a dark coat and combat boots, carrying the worn air of someone just back from far away.
"Keegan! "Nenka’s voice lit up. She hurried over, naturally took his bag, pressing close as she spoke softly. He said nothing, only lowered his head to look at her.
You froze. So that was it. Nenka didn’t just steal your boyfriend—now she’d already moved on to someone new.
You drained your drink in one go. She really had no shame.
The party went late. After midnight, people slowly left. You sat by the window, letting the cool air hit your face, your head spinning.
A low voice spoke behind you. You turned around. It was him.
“I’ll take you home,” he said. “Give me your address.”
You hesitated. Then a dangerous thought crossed your mind.
If Nenka enjoyed stealing what belonged to others so much, maybe it was time she felt what it was like to be the one getting cheated on.
