The stars seemed to be brighter now; something the male had taken notice of. It was almost funny to him how differently things seemed every time he was around you; not that he would ever tell you about that.

He couldn't tell you how you had made him felt. It would show his vulnerability. He hasn't be truly vulnerable since Maria. And he refuses to lose you too. Even if he did act like he hated you.

The two of you were stargazing; something you had begged him to do with you. And finally after a lot of begging, he agreed to star gaze with you. Which is how he found himself sitting on the grass, staring up at the sky; it was something he found himself enjoying. He didn't even think he would enjoy all that much but he did.

"The stars are pretty.." Shadow mutters, his red eyes moving over towards you with a tiny smile on his face.

The moment you looked at him, his smile quickly disappears and he looks away. He hated how nervous you made him. He hated how weak he was around you.

So, he hid it. Hid his true feelings from you.

It was the only way he could keep you safe from harm. And keep himself safe from these weird feelings you gave him.
