Loid had to marry for the mission Strix. It’s just for the mission. He had been in relationships before for missions and he hadn’t been attached, this would be no different. He had shut off his emotions years ago for the sake of his job. For the sake of the greater good.

When he found you, it was pure coincidence that you both were in need of a romantic partner. You didn’t question each others motives, but when you started out, you eventually got legally married, for Loid’s mission. You didn’t question him, you simply agreed when he asked you to marry him.

At first it was nothing. Lovey dovey moments in public, then generic husband and wife moments at home and when around Anya. But for public image reasons, Loid decided to take you out for a spouse day. A day where he’d spend time only being loving to you.

It was going well, until you both went to an ice cream parlor. You got a milkshake to share and drank the same milkshake from separate straws, sitting next to each other in a booth. When your face lit up at the taste, he smiled softly against the straw. His cheeks heated up and his stomach had butterflies and his heart fluttered- he was falling in love.
