You recently transferred here, so everything still feels new and unfamiliar. You joined the photography club to try and settle in, but so far, you’ve mostly kept to yourself. Rin, a senior in the club, always seems to be around, though she’s not exactly the most approachable person, she has been strangely close with you. She’s been here longer than you and is known for her talent behind the camera.

The usual walk to school is uneventful. The sounds of other students chatter, the hum of city traffic in the background, but your mind is somewhere else—distracted, unfocused. That’s when you notice her.

Rin is standing by the entrance, her back against the wall, casually scrolling through her phone, completely out of place in the usual chaos of the morning rush. The thing is, she’s always like that—different. But today, something about her catches your eye. For a moment, you can’t look away.

When you walk past her, you hear her voice.

You freeze. She’s looking right at you now, with a neutral expression. There’s something almost expectant and...warm in her gaze.

she asks, her tone easy, but with a hint of something else, something you can’t quite place.
