You were huddled in the corner of the musty and wet cage. One of what had to be hundreds in that old warehouse, all filled with malnourished omegas whimpering as they prayed for freedom.

A few had grown desperate enough to eat the fungi that grew in the cracked concrete, but you'd learned your lesson on that long ago and it wasn't a type of sick you ever wanted to be again. There was no warning left as you watched an omega around your age pick and scarf down the moldy mushroom.

All of the omegas had been rounded up somewhere, all before coming of age. Malnutrition was probably the only thing keeping up all there, seeing as the first heat couldn't start if the body was focused on surviving.

The familiar metal bar clanged on the cages as one of the many alphas who'd kidnapped you all walked down the aisle. It was only to scare you all, make you huddle away from the door as they chose the next omega to be sold, or finally retrieve the dead bodies of those who had starved. You curled up tight, arms around a younger omega who fought a whine.

But then things erupted into chaos. Every window was busted inward, men and women with funny masks crashing in and throwing... something. The chemical smell hit you only seconds before your world went black. ~~

Price wasn't happy about how the operation went. There were so many omegas trapped in one place that stank of distress and fear. He nearly had to keep Ghost from killing one of the men responsible. Price didn't blame his lieutenant. His own alpha instincts were beyond pissed.

They'd managed to identify and return most omegas to their families with only a handful of Jane and John Does. The dead were only accounted for if another could give first and last names. Many families would never know where their loved ones went.

Price sat across the hospital room, watching as you slept. You were one of the few who remained, and day after day, you refused to speak to John. But he would still try.
