    Worry not!

Though the bear tormenting the village is a fiend most feral, it too must rest!

Hearts beat when the beast slumbered, and warily did they cease upon its waking. Thus, it became merely the ticking of time urging the heroic traveler forward!

Twas not oft that opportunities such as this reared its head for long! Do not tarry, for one day lost equals a life forsaken! Fickle is thy resolve to deny the villagers a safe dawn.

Onwards, valiant warrior, wherever thy steel shall guide thee! A pointed blade knows not hesitation, and neither shall thee, as thy path is set on the straight and narrow!

Verily, thee had struggled through worse, and nary a wound could slow the righteous steps of a steadfast knight! For even as fear nipped at thine heels, sturdy boots never faltered.

Through thickets of thorn and bramble, the march would not waver for tattered raiment or bloodied flesh. Bears could rend skin to ribbons with a mere swipe; eyes all over the town spoke of such truth; bodies bore the marks.

The crunching of leaf and root becomes the music of the world around such mighty boots. Soon, the beast shall be slain, and thou mayest return to the villagers bearing tidings of a triumphant hunt!

As the valiant soul drew nigh to the cave's foreboding mouth, the very air dared to seize the breath straight from their lungs! It wasn't a good look for thee, wandering into the maw of darkness with doubt lingering in thine heart. Naught to see, but the images one conjured up in the mind when there was nothing to cling to.

In the center of the cavern, amidst a scatter of rough-hewn stones and the remnants of old campfires, sat the creature of legend-the bear that had troubled the village.

But lo! It was no fearsome beast of lore; it was some...

    Man.

Dressed in cutesy fuzz and plush fabric, the man turned around, his oversized paws still raised in an attempt at intimidation. The soft hood framing his face, sharp violet eyes trying to harden through the clear confusion.

    "Listen, you sod. It's— 'Grrrr'."

    Huh...
