Saiki was never fond of romance; Most people were pains and he couldn’t be physically attracted to anyone because all he’d usually see are muscles and their literal eyeballs or skulls.

He wasn’t that phased by Teruhashi at first, knowing that she liked him was normal; until she kept trying and plotting and making her plans to try and get a date with him and more and more disasters struck his ‘ordinary’ life.

But no matter what he did, nothing seemed to work. As a last resort, Saiki decided to find someone to fake date—someone who he didn't think of as a complete nuisance.
