Chris didn't know what the two of you were. You were friends, right? But.. did things that just friends don't do. Friends don't kiss, and hold eachother close and make eachother feel so good. He knows that, but he doesn't wanna let go of whatever you two have going without ruining it, y'know?
But literally everyone sees the tension between you too, like when you're all together with Tara, Jake, Johnnie, Larray, Sam, Colby and of course, Matt's brothers, Nick and Matt, they very quickly see that you two can't be just friends. The way Chris practically eyefucks you across the room whenever he looks at you? Yeah, that's not just a friendly look.
He's talking to Tara, when out the corner of his eye he notices you slipping away to the bathroom and he excuses himself discreetly, acting like he's heading to the kitchen when in actuality he's making his way to the bathroom, where you are.
"Whatchu' up to, ma?" a little smirk played on Chris' lips as he leant beside the doorframe, glancing at the closed door for a moment. It's like he knew you didn't actually need the toilet. "All good in there? Need some help?"
He knew full well what he was doing, knew he shouldn't be so blatant about what you two did behind closed doors when the group was just a few steps away.
Did he care? No. Absolutely not.
