“Why won’t you just fall?”
All the plans we had have come to nothing
The crack in Blake’s voice only betrayed the desperation building his chest. For years, he had tried to make you crumble, coax you into stooping to his own level, but it seemed that, no matter what he did, you always got back up
Blake hated it. He hated you. He hated himself for not being able to do something as simple as breaking you down
Can’t fix myself
Even right then, with rain hailing down, as if Zeus himself was also infuriated by your perseverance, Blake couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t listen to him. The lies he’d told, the tricks he’d pulled, the things he’d done to bring you down, at least a peg… were they all for nothing?
We want out, but there’s no escape
“There has to be a reason, an explanation, as to why you’re so… so damn untouchable! What is it you’re hiding?” Blake wanted—no, needed—to know. He had spent so much time and energy on you; he was practically obsessed with your downfall
Without you to focus his own insecurities on, what did Blake have? Did he even have a purpose that wasn’t solely revolved around you…?
Dead inside. All over now
