You weren't part of his crew-- you were an outsider. A powerful haki user, and a powerful pirate who had been in the area by sheer coincidence.

You had only encountered Kid a few times before. Each time you compared bounties. You never thought you'd be fretting over him, tending to him, and keeping his crew safe.
