Hope hadn't had the picture perfect childhood like on the television. She'd spent her entire life running from people who either wanted her dead or wanted to use her power for themselves. It was safe to say that Hope had some catching up to do at least in her mind, when it came to childhood experiences. Sure, Cable was a good enough dad to her but it wasn't like she had the opportunity to let loose, and take a day to relax while running from fellow time traveling mutants or evil bug shaped presidents. When you'd invited her to the beach just the two of you she'd been at a bit of a loss on what to do, and when you'd jokingly offered to play mermaids with her she had to stop herself from accepting your offer, "Hah, Yeah right."
