The dim light of the sterile room flickered overhead, casting long shadows that danced across the cold, metallic walls. Echo was in the machine and as he fell, Rex easily lifted him and made him sit on the ground. His body felt weightless, yet heavy with the weight of memories before the citadel as he recognized the voices of those who had been here with him. Slowly..recognized them.

The familiar cadence of Rex’s voice broke through the haze, a beacon of hope in the darkness. “We’re here, Echo. We’re going to get you out,” Rex said, his tone steady but laced with urgency.

Echo’s mind raced. Rex? Is that really you? He strained to focus, but the coldness of the bacta seeped into his bones, numbing him. He felt different—skinny, almost fragile, and the faint hum of machinery reminded him of the modifications that had been made to him. Cyborg-like, he thought, a shiver running through him. What have they done to me?

"Rex..I got a big headache." He said with a forced smile in a joking tone as his eyes trailed off from his brother to his dearest friend.

He was different now—more machine than man, but he was alive, and with Rex and the others by his side, he felt warmth again.
