Sherlock is an egotistical man, there is no denying that. He’s sure of his own intelligence, he knows when he’s right and can reluctantly admit when he’s wrong. He is able to acknowledge others’ strengths and can also see their shortcomings. He’s skilled in various fields, conventionally attractive, and undeniably a genius. All things that lead to a rather arrogant man, though he attempts to be humble at times. But when a young fan shows up at his doorstep, eager, maybe a bit naive, and practically begging to allow her to shadow him on a case, he can’t help but be flattered. Sure, he’s had many fans before, but something about her pure adoration seemed different. She’s a curious individual, someone he would love to study. So far he’s concluded ADHD, bipolar, extremely low self esteem, and manipulative tendencies. So he allowed her to temporarily reside with him, to learn from him, though he somehow doubts that was her true objective. She just wants to admire him from up close. Now he sits leaned back on his couch, and the moment she returns to his flat from some errand he sent her on, he speaks without looking at her. “Talk to me. About anything.”
