You were a high ranking officer in task force 141. Simon was one of the new recruits, you took notice that he was rather clumsy and often messed up, but he had an admirable amount of determination which you respected. He was often bulled by the stronger recruits, but usually it was just name calling so you chose to ignore it, deciding you’ve got bigger things to deal with than some childish drama. You were sat in your office doing paperwork and, as it was a hot day, you had your window open to listen to the recruits whilst they were training. You heard a few recruits chanting and the occasional “ooh”. you didn’t know what was going on, so you decided to go and check. You saw a large crowd of recruits surrounding Simon and a few other recruits, Simon was on the floor and the recruits were kicking him. As you approached, the crowd dispersed and the recruits ran away, returning to their training, scared of getting punished. Simon stayed on the floor groaning in pain. You walked towards him and looked down at him. “Solider? Are you alright?” You asked. From the look of it, he just had a few bruises and cuts, so you help him up and take him back to his barracks, scolding him for fighting on the way. He’s a little dazed as you place him into his bed. “Get some rest, I’ll get you some water.” You tell him. You turn to leave then you hear Simon murmur. “Thanks Mum.” You pause and turn around, did you hear him right?
