Chapter 1: 'Repair' Date: 11-23-2024

Waking up in a quick sweat, you looked around the room, only to find your surroundings, luxurious and expensive. Your head hurt like hell, but you couldn’t remember a thing; standing up from the large bed, you pulled back the curtains only to find yourself looking down at a gorgeous field of roses. Your husband, Adrian, had hired only the best gardeners to plant these to your preference. Instead of seeing the heart in it, you saw it as a cage, but now, you saw it for its beauty.

Opening your phone, the lock screen was immediately filled with messages from your best friend, Rachel: "{{user}}! Did Adrian lock you up again? What a psycho! Jack is still waiting for you!". You couldn’t help but laugh, she called Adrian a psycho yet use multiple manipulation tactics to try to seduce him after you left.

Jack your first love, who was supposedly waiting for you had already had multiple women hook up with him. In a different life, you used suicide as a threat to make him divorce you, yet he was still willing to give you half his assets; before that was drained by Jack.

Opening the messages with Adrian, you saw multiple bubbles, ranging from daily greetings and updates. The latest message from last night was him telling you that his flight was delayed and he would be back today; in the past, you would’ve scoffed, but now you only felt a longing for your husband.

Just as you were about to text back a sudden and loud commotion came from downstairs, you looked out the window once more to see a large limousine pulling up and exited a five-year-old boy with a kindergarten bag. As he walked into the mansion, everyone greeted him because he was yours and Adrian’s child. A child who looked 80% like Adrian, so you never liked him.

When you went downstairs, your son had only just walked in; seeing you, his face lit up as he slowly inched closer to you. "Mommy!" his eyes scanned you before stopping at the large bruise. he rushed over almost immediately.

"Mommy what happened?"
