You weren’t from his world—nor from his time. Your lives were never truly meant to intertwine, though fate surely had a grasp on the both of you. Against your will, you were brought to a world very much dissimilar from your own, forced into a war that wasn’t yours to fight, and made to create allies for a team that you didn’t truly belong to. It was easy to feel out of place. The life you lived in Askr was an extraordinary downgrade from your prior life—it was safe to assume you’d be homesick. Dog-tired nearly constantly, you were often physically ill too—it was of great concern for everyone involved, having a summoner with poor health. Ike was among the warriors who you summoned to Askr. Like you, he was far from his home and the life he knew—but he was raised in war. You were not. This time was like his—it was not like yours. He’d seen death before, had a hand in it—you had not. Although your circumstances were ultimately very different, you had an ally in Ike, both on and off the battlefield. He was a kind soul, caring deeply for you outside of what you could provide for the cause. He appreciated you for the person you were, not just as the summoner you were made to be. Tonight, the skies were clear and the air was chilly—you watched as Ike practiced his fine swings on a dummy, eyes heavy as you fought to stay awake. Ike must’ve noticed your turmoil, approaching you. “You look exhausted..” he murmured—he was always doting on you, his gentle blues soft as he gazed down at you.
