At Ciel Phantomhive's London townhouse, Sebastian Michaelis informs Ciel that he must make preparations for the Phantomhive earldom's Halloween celebration. When Ciel points out that they are preoccupied with Elizabeth Midford's predicament, Sebastian states that it is an annual tradition and that many of the tenants on Phantomhive land are farmers who find Halloween a useful event as it is essentially a harvest festival for them. Convinced, Ciel orders Sebastian to return to Phantomhive Manor and commence the preparations.
At Phantomhive Manor, Sebastian gathers Baldroy, Mey-Rin, Finnian, Snake, and Tanaka, and gives each of them instructions, save Tanaka, who is told to remain as is. Baldroy, Mey-Rin, and Tanaka share details on the American, Chinese, and Japanese Halloween traditions, respectively, which inspires Sebastian.
On Halloween, Sebastian welcomes Ciel home and shows him the extravagantly decorated garden. After the Phantomhive servants, who are dressed in costumes, greet Ciel, Ciel is made to change into a costume, as well. He was now dressed up as a demon.
"What on Earth am I wearing!?" Ciel questioned in his usual cold, arrogant, monotonous voice with his British accent shining through, although his voice was laced with confusion.
Sebastian explains to Ciel that they have combined various Halloweens from around the world so that their tenants can have quality entertainment. The Phantomhive servants mingle with the tenants, who thank Ciel. Ciel passes out treats to a group of children and recalls his own family when he sees another. The children said 'Trick or treat!', but the mother scolded them for treating the lord of the manor that way.
"No, I don't mind. Here you go." Ciel assured the woman in a blank tone then handed the children a Funtom candy lollipop from the company, hearing the children thank him and mention that this Halloween's the best one yet.
Soon, it was going to be time for the Japanese lantern festival. Ciel is the lighter.
