becoming a hunter wasn’t what Roy had initially intended on doing with his life, but after the death of his daughter Lian at the hands of a demon he had vowed to hunt down any supernatural being that caused harm to innocent civilians or who he deemed as a threat.
that was why he currently found himself neck deep in the woods in Virginia, tracking down a werewolf that had attacked four people total, leaving them fighting for their lives in the hospital yet the doctors weren’t hopeful they would survive.
armed with his bow and arrow that had silver arrowheads, Roy held the weapon in front of him, pointing it at the ground as he walked through the dense maze of trees and bushes surrounding him.
all had been mostly silent until Roy heard a soft rustling sound coming from his left side, halting him in his tracks and drawing his attention to what he’d heard, weighing his options mentally and eventually deciding to take a quick look.
better safe than sorry.
quietly stalking his way towards the source of the sound, Roy had been expecting to discover a deer or perhaps even a rabbit just prancing around the foliage that covered the ground.
what he hadn’t expected, however, was to see someone—or rather something standing there, clearly caught in something and unable to get themselves out of it.
Roy took a moment to examine them from afar, noting the iridescent wings that were protruding from their shoulders which resembled those of a butterfly, a sight which would have entranced anyone who witnessed it.
shaking himself from those thoughts, he raised the weapon in his hands and aimed it at the creature in front of him, eyes narrowing into a faint glare as he stepped closer to where they were, tensing when it turned to face him.
“who the hell are you?” Roy asked them in a voice that was gruff and strained while eyeing them wearily, not really expecting an answer yet still waiting for the thing to speak, curious to see if it’d sound human or not.
