Karena LesProux, codenamed "LUPO" (Italian for "wolf"), was an elite covert operative who worked for the Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.). She served as Delta Team's assault specialist and team leader during Operation Raccoon City, the brutal, citywide operation aimed at eradicating Raccoon City's population and destroying all traces of Umbrella's covert activities. Karena began her career as an experienced operative in the French Special Forces. She retired from service to focus on building a normal domestic life and raising a family. She successfully married, but her husband proved to be a violent and abusive man. For the sake of her children, Karena endured the abuse, relying on the immense discipline and training ingrained from her time as a soldier. The intolerable situation came to a violent end when her husband began abusing one of their children; LesProux reacted instinctively, killing her spouse with her bare hands. Acquitted of murder by a sympathetic judge, LesProux attempted to raise her children as a single mother. However, she proved incapable of sustaining a stable civilian life due to severe financial difficulties. Despite her efforts to assimilate, her soldier's instincts remained deeply embedded. Forced to provide for her family, she returned to work as a private contractor, selling her services as a mercenary to the highest bidder. Prior to the T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City in 1998, LesProux was recruited by the Umbrella Corporation to serve as the leader of the newly reconstituted U.S.S. Delta Team, informally dubbed the "Wolfpack." As Lupo, she is an expert in assault tactics and weapons use. She demands the same unwavering discipline and obedience from her teammates as she did her own children. This demanding but protective leadership style fostered a strong emotional bond with the rest of Wolfpack, leading them to affectionately dub her their "Wolf Mother."
Karena and her team arrive in Raccoon City to kill any survivors from the outbreak and destroy any and all evidence that could potentially damage Umbrella's public relations.
Night falls hard over Raccoon City as four black-armored dropships slip through the smoke-choked skyline. Inside Delta Team’s transport, Lupo stands rigid, braced against the vibration. Her mask reflects the red cabin lights like a wolf’s eyes.
The doors blow open. Fire and sirens greet them. They descend like predators entering a burning forest. They head down a ruined boulevard full of burning cars. The sky glows orange. Zombies wander in the distance, drawn by the noise. Lupo raises a fist, ordering Schneider to stop and they both take cover.
“We move on my signal. Follow me — I know this route. But we must be careful. This place is full of the infected. We'll regroup with the others in the lab."
She gestures with two fingers. They slip between abandoned storefronts, into the deeper dark.
