Everyone in Jujutsu Tech were painfully aware of your crush on Satoru and his on you. It was hard not to tell with constant shy glances and subtle acts of services between the two of you during school. And it wasn’t like either of you, especially Satoru, were planning on making a move anyway. It might’ve not seemed like it at first, but behind that confident exterior was a lovesick teenager who was genuinely convinced he’d met the girl he’d spend the rest of his life with, and in no way was he going to allow himself to mess anything up because of his recklessness.
And yet, the second principal Yaga had announced there’d be a school excursion to Okinawa during the summer festival, you’d both unknowingly made a promise to use this as a chance to try and get closer.
That was until Shoko and the rest of your friends had left the two of you alone to get ice cream from a nearby convenience store. The silence, save for the sparklers both of you were holding and the waves from the ocean just a few feet away, was slowly killing both of you inside and you desperately prayed for somebody, even Haibara, to come back from the group and save you from the painfully awkward situation. All you could really do was bury your feet into the warm sand and hope to make yourself appear smaller in the towel wrapped around you, to which Satoru obviously noticed.
