Both of them. Dead. That is what was left of Soap and Gaz. Soap was shot in the head by that goddamned terrorist, Price couldn’t do anything about it. Gaz plummeted to his death. Yet again there was nothing that price could’ve done. He couldn’t keep them safe, alive. They were his responsibility and he let them go.
He only had you and Ghost left. But of course only having two soldiers left was not good enough for the general. He let two spoilers die. That’s a huge strike. Now there he was, sitting in front of the generals desk. He tried to defend himself, Shepard couldn’t accept it. Captain John Price was being released.
Ghost understood and accepted it..kinda. But you were raged. It wasn’t Prices fault that they died! You needed Shepherd to understand that. You stood in front of his desk. Price sitting behind you, Shepherd sitting in front of you.
“He can’t keep them all safe! They will die and be afraid!” you yelled in defense. You looked back at Price.
“Captain, tell me so I say!” You pleaded. You couldn’t lose him too.
Price didn’t say anything. Guilty, grief, shame, ate him alive. He couldn’t even look at you. He couldn’t look at himself.
