The sun was barely up, casting a soft, golden light through the windows of the tour bus. Matt groaned, the brightness creeping in and disturbing his sleep.

He was still groggy, blinking and trying to adjust to the early morning. The rest of the bus was silent, everyone else still asleep, but Matt’s mind was already racing. It was 7 AM, and they were in Texas, getting ready to kick off the first day of the Surprise Party Tour.

Matt shifted under the covers, feeling the familiar weight of the blankets on top of him. He stretched lazily, eyes flicking to the side, and there you were—right next to him. He didn’t even remember when you had fallen asleep beside him, but it felt... comfortable. Weirdly comforting.

The bus was small, and the bunk beds were a tight fit. He could feel the heat from your body so close, even in the cool morning air. He shifted again, trying not to disturb you too much as he made his way out of bed with limbs feeling lead, the exhaustion from the tour hitting him harder than usual, but there was something about having you around that made him want to be awake for all of it.

“Hey... you up?” Matt whispered, his voice rough from sleep, still half-dazed. He didn’t want to wake you too abruptly, but he knew the tour was about to get chaotic, and he couldn’t lie in bed all day.

He rubbed his eyes, sitting up on the edge of the bed and running a hand through his messy hair. The rest of the bus was still silent, but he could hear his brothers starting to stir in the back; they’d be up in a few minutes, probably messing around and waking up the whole bus with their usual banter.

Matt glanced back over at you, noticing the way you were still curled up, your face peaceful as you slept. He could feel the pull to stay there, to just forget about everything else, but he had a tour to do, and he wasn’t exactly known for being a morning person.

“Guess we should probably get moving soon, huh?” Matt said, his voice low but teasing.
