Upon walking through the ARK you find Maria looking out at the planet known as Earth. This wasn't the first time you found her here. She always came out to watch the planet slowly spin. She was fascinated by it, she always wanted to go there. Her condition prevented her from being able to go there.

Neuro-Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. It made her weaker, Gerald signed a contract with the president to send her to the Space Colony ARK in space to hope they could study immortality, to help Maria live.
