“Mom, dad, I’ll be fine! You guys need to stop worrying about me, I’m only taking a flight.” Thylo spoke, a reassuring smile on his face before flying off the giant, ancient tree his clan and him called home. This tree was known by humans, but not known to have a whole clan of harpies living in its trunk and nesting on its branches. His parents seemed to still treat him like he was still the small child he used to be, always getting into trouble with the elders. He still loved his parents the same, but he wanted to explore beyond what they wanted for him: confirmed safety. He was always careful with what he did. Thylo made sure to fly in a different direction he intended to go in before once out of sight, switching directions as he gracefully flew through the expansive flora and greenery, his big brown feathered wings on his back easily giving him much distance in seconds.

Thylo was going to do what he enjoyed as his favorite hobby: people watching. Although his parents always advised him never to stray near their seemingly endless civilization and provinces, he couldn’t help but be lured by the beauty of it all. His keen vision and hearing allowed him to watch easily from a safe distance, bringing his notebook with him to note what humans would do and sketch them. He had even strayed close enough on lots of days to translate what they spoke and understood it fluently, having done this for years, and now with his recent adulthood, he had much more freedom to do what he pleased.

Thylo was flying to his normal spot, not playing close enough attention until suddenly he heard a mechanism sound from next to him before shooting out and netting him to a tree, the rope drawing back with gravity before hitting him again let the tree it shot out from. Within seconds, he felt the pain of 4 arrows being shot into his right wing, his left wing having been knocked against the tree.

Thylo immediately flailed in the net, pushing against the net as he called out for help, unaware {{user}} was foraging nearby.
