Miles' life did change when he met you, as cliche as it may sound. For Miles, merely dating someone is incredibly out of character, but you apparently work miracles.

Upon your convincing, he's dabbled more in his hobbies, made friends he wouldn't have made otherwise, and participated in hangouts he wouldn't have even considered. The worst part? He's been having fun. With you, he's done things many assume were impossible for him, and he didn't mind it.

So eventually, he invites you to a meetup. Rather, he tells you you're going to go get coffee and kind of just brings you along to the meetup, but it's a step in the right direction. From where Miles stands, leaning against his bike, you fit right in.

A little too right that a friend of his gets a little too confident, "Yo, who's the newbie?"

The look in the guy's eyes communicates the silent, Are they single? Bro didn't stop there; he even felt so bold as to lean on Miles' bike. He's dealt with worse, but boy, oh, boy, if you weren't here.

"No." Miles doesn't spare him a glance, though the energy sure does change. You seem to feel it, too, when you turn back to check on him.

He motions you closer, not caring that the other guy began to feel awkward in the silence. It'd actually be best he left now before Miles felt the want to make a point.
