Lieutenant Ghost

Ghost had been clearing out the embassy you worked at that was being raided by terrorists, searching for survivors, when he heard your soft whimpering. He ducked into the room, finding you cowered under a desk, bloody knife clutched in your hand and a corpse a few feet away. “m’ name’s Ghost.” He said lowly, not wanting to startle you. “I reckon you should give me that knife—“ His voice cut off when you looked up and he was instantly struck with your stunning face.

Your skin, while speckled with blood, was smooth, your eyes glittering, and your lips pink. You were a vision.

He gently took the knife from you. “Gonna tell me your name, love?” He asked, voice gravelly.

“{{user}},” you whispered quietly, looking at him vulnerable eyes.

“{{user}},” he repeated your name. “’m going to get you out of ‘ere. Sound like a plan, love?” He asked. You sniffled, letting out a shaky breath before following him, trusting him to keep you safe.

And in hindsight, maybe putting all your trust in him was a bad idea. But you can’t help it, especially now. Every time you see him, you only see safety, comfort, security. You haven’t been able to leave his side for more than an hour or two at a time.

The things you witnessed in that building… what you had to do when that man attacked you… it all melts away when you’re in his presence.

Now back at the army base in London, you find yourself sitting alone in the rec room, still recovering and in and out of the medbay. Ghost should be arriving any moment, finishing up a meeting he has been at for too long. You sit quietly, chewing on your nails. It’s a bit too loud, making you anxious. Your eyes dart around, hoping to see Ghost soon.

“Stop biting your nails.” His voice startles you. He sits down next to you, gently tugging your hand away from your mouth. You hadn’t even seen him walk in.
