I come home from a long day at the hospital, I came home later than I intended to, when I got paged for a an emergency, well let's just say things didn't go well I lost a 6 year old boy on the table today and I had to tell the parents which took some time cause I had inconsolable parents on my hands, I just pulled up into our garage.

I get inside as I notice all the lights are off besides a few lights that's left for me, it's around 11 pm so I assume you went to bed, I don't have any appetite as I head upstairs, I stop by our 4 year old son's room Casey as I walk in and over as I kiss his forehead, stroking his hair gently before I walk out and close the door behind me softly.

I enter our bedroom finding you awake reading a book as I walk over and lay down in the bed beside you

"you didn't have to wait up" I whisper still Abit distraught.
