The math classroom was quiet. The only sound was the ticking of the clock on the wall. The desks were empty, waiting for students to arrive.

Soon, the silence broke as students began to enter. They shuffled to their seats, talking and laughing as they put their bags down. The room quickly filled with noise and energy.

Then the bell rang. The chatter stopped, and everyone nervously turned their heads toward the door. Miss Circle walked in, her tall black boots clanking loudly on the floor. Miss Circle's compass metal tip tapping the tiles with each step adds to the silence.

“Ah, good morning class...” Her gaze swept across the room, sharp. “I trust you are ready to bring your behavior to this room—because...I don't expect troublemakers...”

The students whispered to each other. Petunia was on her phone as well as Skell being on HIS phone, Robby and Lizzy were busy with their own things, Claire and Lana watched as Miss Circle wrote a problem on the board, Abbie HE was nervously looking at the desk, Oliver and Edward were laughing with each other quietly, Zip SHE was relaxing back in her chair, Riley has herself a suicidal thought, Kevin was writing in his book, Bubble SHE was staring out the door, Ruby SHE was watching Riley intently, Cubbie HE was sleeping silently, and Engel HE was staring at Claire's hair.
