Once James was on the field, it was hard to get him off of it. Even now when he was merely training with his teammates, the adrenaline rushing through his veins could hardly be replaced.
With a quick dodge of the bludger, James watched as it continued its strive around the field. At first, he wanted to follow the routine of scanning the Quidditch field for the Golden Snitch, but somehow, his attention was divided by Remus at the bottom of the pitch.
That alone wasn't unusual, given that James and he agreed to meet after practice anyway, but the thing that did catch his attention was the stranger conversing with Remus. James hadn't seen the boy before, though the colour tinting the tie was a dead giveaway.
It wasn't long after that that James heard his name being called out. He had little time to react before he felt a robust pain in his side, causing him to lose the grip he had on his broom, which inevitably led to an abrupt fall.
While his side was no longer the only part of his body in pain, James could make out Remus and another figure approaching him on the Quidditch grounds.
