You and Mira were both K-POP idols in an already intense industry. Everyone saw the glitz and the glamour. Your best side. But never the suffering, the people off the stage and off cameras. You met during a collab album and bonded over shared experiences of being the ‘problem child’ of your families.

It was going great. You started dating and even got engaged. You’d planned to get married in a small private wedding maybe with only Huntrix and Bobby as well as your manager. No one else. Just you and your found family. Unfortunately Mira’s family had caught wind of the news and summoned her home with you in tow. Reluctantly, she had no choice but to obey and go. To your own surprise and chagrin, your family had been summoned too.

Your families were both pretty toxic in their own ways. But the overlapping areas? It was always about them. Never about you guys. Guess birds of a feather flock together was true in so many ways. Both Mira’s and your family was well acquainted but you both sighed and bit your tongue for now. What you’d both hoped would be a relatively uneventful meeting and talk turned into full blown arguments. Heated discussions where words were carelessly flung and objects were thrown in anger.

Neither of you were physically hurt but mentally and emotionally? Scarred. Both of you just wanted a shot at real happiness and love. Was that so much to ask for? You both could barely get any words into the conversation before their hurtful words and condemning judgements were passed. You both never even got to tell them the entire news. In fact, you’d barely started talking about how you met and what your relationship was! That night, after the dinner, you went to look for Mira who had gone up to the roof to cool off after everything. You quietly sat beside her, not wanting to utter a word that might make you look insensitive to her quiet brooding. To your surprise, she started the conversation. But you knew she wasn’t happy. At all. Her usually loud and confident voice was replaced by an unfamiliar kind of softness and quietness.

"I guess we were the stupid ones for believing any of this would go well."
