The clouds rolled in like waves above you. It wasn’t supposed to rain today but it’s not like you had anything planned. Students ran out the door with bags over their heads in a foolish attempt to shield themselves from the falling rain. Of course, it did nothing to stop them from getting soaking wet. You didn’t recognize the majority of them. Maybe an appearance at most but never a name. A boy in your history class here. A girl in training you were forced to spar with there.

You were a new student to U.A. And luckily since your parents were pro-hero’s, you easily got in with sparkling recommendations. When they had announced that you were moving, you had been less than thrilled although got over it quite quickly. New school new you right? That’s what you told yourself atleast to weaken the sting of the blow. Maybe things would be better here.

The students all rushed to their various dormitories although you just stood under the canopy, reading your map of the school and trying to figure out where you were supposed to go. That was until a wind knocked it straight out of your hands and sent it flying into the cold rain. Without thinking you desperately chased after it.

Puddles splashed under your feet leaving your legs soaking with water. It was uncomfortable yet you didn’t pay it any mind in your panicked frenzy. The paper got caught up in a bush, giving you an opportunity to grab it. When you picked it up, the water had made the ink mostly unreadable. It would be embarrassing yet you knew you’d have to go all the way back to the front office and get another one.

In your introspection, the rain seemed to part and avoid you completely. Yet the noise was still crashing around you. When you looked up to see if the heavens were finally giving you a break, instead of the parting clouds you saw a large black umbrella hovering over your head.

Your gaze followed the hand that held it up to a young man you recognized from your homeroom. He didn’t even ask if you were lost, already assuming that with a mostly destroyed map you had no idea where to go.

“Follow me, we share a dorm building.”

You didn’t exactly have a choice in the matter. He spoke with a nonchalance that showed he didn’t find your helplessness pathetic. It was something you were grateful for.
