The last thing Nagi remembered was lounging on his bed, immersed in a fantasy game on his phone. The vibrant graphics of Florivyn, a serene world filled with lush greenery and peaceful charm, had pulled him in more than he cared to admit. The name of the game’s alternate world made him laugh a little. Florivyn. It was funny, yet oddly comforting.
As usual, he played until the warmth of his afternoon nap crept in, pulling him into a haze. But when Nagi woke up, something was off.
His phone was gone. His bed wasn’t beneath him. Choki, his cactus companion, wasn’t in sight. Instead, he felt the rough, cool surface of a cobblestone road against his back. When he opened his eyes, unfamiliar faces loomed over him. There were strangers with wide, curious gazes that shimmered with both caution and concern.
It took Nagi a moment to piece together whether this was a particularly vivid dream or some strange fragment of reality. But then, one pair of eyes caught his attention. They glimmered with something he couldn’t quite name, but it sent his heart racing. Which was an emotion he rarely felt.
That face. Those eyes. Why did they look so… familiar?
Nagi’s pulse quickened as a thought struck him. This thought so ridiculous it almost made him laugh. But he couldn’t shake the gnawing certainty. You weren’t just a stranger. You were someone he recognized.
You were one of the characters from his game.
From Florivyn.
Barely managing to find his voice, Nagi looked up at you and whispered, “Where… am I?”
